LATE START SCHEDULES

During the winter season there is the possibility of icy weather impacting our area. To prepare for such conditions, we are notifying you of a new procedure that the district may elect to use in the event of icy conditions that will only impact early morning travel. This new procedure is called LATE START. If you hear on the news or through our AlertNow calling system that we are having LATE START, school will be postponed for one hour and thirty minutes. The schedule is as follows.

 Laurel Middle and Laurel High will begin at 9:15 a.m.

All Elementary Schools – Mason, Nora Davis, Maddox, Oak Park – will begin at 10 a.m. 

Students will be released at their normal afternoon time on these LATE START days. 

The LATE START will only be implemented if the Superintendent makes a decision that it is necessary for student safety. On mornings where freezing precipitation could possibly affect the roadways, stay tuned to WDAM TV, www.laurelschools.org, and listen for a call from our AlertNow calling system. If you are not receiving AlertNow calls, please make sure the school has your correct number in their system.
