
The Laurel High School High Select Gospel Choir participated in the Smoky Mountain Music Festival in Gatlinburg, TN on May 9, 2008. This competition was open to all who accept invitations from around the nation. Schools from Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Florida, Georgia, and of course Mississippi were represented. The LHS Select Gospel Choir placed first in the 2A SATB Concert Choir Category and their scores were the fifth highest among all schools represented. Not only were the students exceptional in their singing ability but they were also commended for their impeccable discipline and behavior.
