The Laurel High School Career and Technical Center’s Business and Computer Technology scholars used their entrepreneurship skills to create a cereal company, and develop a marketing plan for their companies. Students used their desktop publishing and communication skills to create a professional presentation. Each student used critical thinking skills to create a cereal company, a model of the box, along with a thumbnail sketch of their company. Through this hands-on activity scholars received a look at how entrepreneurs get started in a business and the diligence it takes to market a new product. Picture left to right are Dorriean Williams, Zac James, Jones County Junior College Business Office Technology Instructor Teresa Robertson who critiqued the students’ work, Harold Hearn, Michael Keys, Josh Paquin, and BCT Teacher Devon Sellers.
