Director of Federal Programs

The primary role of the Director of Federal Programs is the overseeing and implementing of Title I: Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged; Title II: Preparing, Training and Recruiting High Quality Teachers and Principals; Title IV: Safe and Drug Free Schools; professional development as it pertains to federal programs; and any other federal/state programs as assigned. The incumbent that holds this position will also serve as the district contact person for ensuring the organization, coordination and monitoring for compliance for the following:  Parent Involvement, Homeless, Neglected and Delinquent, Private and Migrant programs.

The Director of Federal Programs should demonstrate strong oral and written communication, problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills.  The director should be driven to meet deadlines, capable of working with little or no supervision, have an eye for detail, and capable of long-term planning in all related areas. The ability to set schedules, maintain budgets, and exercise time management skills is essential to the success of individuals working in this office.  Strong interpersonal skills are also a must, as is the ability to work with diverse individuals.

Minimum Requirements – Education: Master’s Degree in Education required, Certification/Licensure: Must hold or be eligible for MS Educator’s License; Administrator endorsement strongly preferred, Experience: Minimum 3 years supervisory and/or administrative experience and 3 additional years of classroom teaching experience required and experience in Title I schools is preferred. Salary will be commensurate with experience and level of education.

Secondary Biology/General Science 7-12
