Cross makes school history with 2019 All-American Bowl honor

Laurel High School football standout Charles Cross became the first player in school history selected to play in the All-American Bowl. During a special ceremony at LHS, Cross was presented his jersey for the game. Cross, a dedicated student on and off the field, has committed to further his education and athletic play at Florida State University. For the past 19 years, 100 high school athletes are selected annually to play in what is described as the nation’s premier high school all-star game with 400 players having gone on to play in the NFL. The game will air live on NBC on January 5, 2019. Each player selected as a 2019 All-American is given the opportunity to select a coach who has impacted their level of play and for Cross that person was LHS Offensive Line Coach William Clay. During the ceremony, Clay was presented the American Family Insurance Dream Champion Award.
