Drummond, Crosby named to 2017 Clarion-Ledger All-State players, Price named Coach of the Year

After another state championship title win, two Laurel tornadoes and head coach were honored by The Clarion-Ledger. 


Dontario Drummond, Laurel, Shooting Guard, 6'2, Senior: Averaged 18.2 points, 12.4 rebounds, 2.5 steals and two assists per game in leading his team to the 5A state title. He had 29 points and seven rebounds in Laurel's semifinal win over Oxford.


Troymain Crosby, Laurel, Small Forward, 6'4, Senior: The Alcorn State signee averaged a double-double with 20.4 points, 11.7 rebounds and three assists per game, leading his team to the 5A state title where he was named player of the game.


Marcus Price, Laurel

Coming into the season Marcus Price had one mission, to win back to back state championships. That's exactly what he did. After a tough start to the 2016/2017 season the Tornadoes defeated Neshoba Central 85-74 in the title game.
