Laurel School Board honored as part of School Board Recognition Week

In recognition of the dedicated service of school boards across the state, the week of February 12 - 18 is designated as “School Board Member Recognition Week.” The designation was made in the form of a proclamation signed by Gov. Phil Bryant. School Board Member Recognition Week is a time for school districts and communities across the state to recognize and commend the role school board members play in ensuring quality education. The Laurel School District participated by recognizing our five-member board at the Feb. 7 school board meeting. Superintendent Dr. Chuck Benigno presented each member of the board with a certificate that was sent to the district from the Mississippi School Boards Association, and each member was given a small gift of appreciation. Each school also participated in honoring school board members by recognizing them at various school functions.
