NDMS celebrates Read Across America Day

AmeriCorps’ America Reads Mississippi tutors at Nora Davis Magnet School participated in National Read Across America by having volunteers read to students throughout the day. Read Across America correlates with the birthday of Dr. Seuss, so all books read were selections by the famed author. The day is set aside each year to celebrate the importance of literacy and encourage students to develop a love for reading. In addition to the guest readers, the Laurel High School Culinary Arts students cooked green eggs and ham for the 4K students at Nora Davis. All elementary Schools in the Laurel School District participated in Read Across America Day.
