Dr. Victor Deshon Hubbard brings a wealth of experience to his role, having served as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal over his 22-year career in education. He has worked in multiple districts, including Hinds County, Jackson, Meridian, and Hattiesburg, demonstrating a broad and diverse background in educational leadership.
Dr. Hubbard earned his Bachelor of Arts from Tougaloo College. He then furthered his education at Mississippi College, where he received his Masters, Specialist, and Doctoral degrees in Education.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hubbard has held a variety of positions, including 3rd teacher at Utica Mixon Elementary, Hinds County Public Schools, 5th Grade Teacher at Clausell Elementary, Jackson Public Schools, 3rd/4th Grade Teacher at Wilkins Elementary, Jackson Public Schools, 4th/5th Grade Teacher at Brown Elementary, Jackson Public Schools, 5th Grade Teacher at Boyd Elementary, Jackson Public Schools. Assistant Principal at Carver Middle School, Meridian Public Schools, Administrator of the 9th Grade Academy, Meridian Public Schools, Principal of Meridian High School. Meridian Public Schools and Principal of Hattiesburg High, Hattiesburg Public Schools.
In July 2024, Dr. Hubbard joined the Laurel School District as Assistant Superintendent, bringing his extensive experience and leadership skills to the district. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Educational Administration, Foundations, and Research at Jackson State University, where he contributes to the development of future educational leaders.
