The Mississippi High School Activities Association has released Return to Activity Guidelines that will allow schools to begin voluntary workouts with restrictions beginning Monday, June 1, 2020. Several Laurel High School athletic programs will begin voluntary workouts on Monday, June 1st. During this time we will be operating under strict social distancing and safety guidelines. Athletes showing any symptoms of COVID-19 will not be permitted to train. Student-athletes will not be allowed to change clothes prior to workouts, so please arrive dressed accordingly (shirts, shorts, shoes, etc.) Guidelines allow students to train in limited numbers. Please make sure student-athletes arrive at least 20 minutes before the beginning of their workout time. The first 14 days are an acclimation period that will allow athletes to transition back to exercise and workouts. The safety of our student-athletes is our number one priority. Our coaches and administration have worked diligently to make this plan a reality. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at 601-649-4145 or via email at rearnest@laurelschools.org.
