LHS sophomore scores highest marks on WorkKeys assessment

Laurel High School sophomore Jakendal Ruffin is a first-year welding student at the LHS Career & Technical Center. She recently received Platinum Level scores on all three components of the WorkKeys Assessment, which is the highest a student can score. Last year, as a freshman, she received a perfect score on the state algebra test and scored a 28 on the ACT. At Laurel High, she is a member of the Art Club, Beta Club, Student Council, Book Club, volleyball team, and serves as a manager for the softball team and sophomore class president. She is a Superintendent’s List Scholar and plans to one day study law or business.
