Laurel High School students accepted into prestigious MSMS

Two Laurel High School students were accepted into the prestigious Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science.  Samuel Hill and Maxwell Dobbs will attend their junior and seniors years of high school at MSMS. The residential, public school is under the direction of the Mississippi Department of Education and provides a rigorous academic program that focuses on the areas of math and science. All classes at MSMS are taught as honors classes or higher.

While at Laurel High School, Dobbs was a member of the Beta Club, Robotics Team and Academic Ambassadors who compete in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. He was a Superintendent’s List Scholar and Advanced Placement Scholar. Dobbs received the highest scores given on both the AP Calculous and AP Human Geography Tests. He was also inducted into the ACT 30s Club for his outstanding score.

While at Laurel High School, Hill was a member of the Beta Club, Robotics Team and Academic Ambassadors. He was a Superintendent’s List Scholar and received the highest average in chemistry and AP Human Geography his sophomore year. He was inducted into the ACT Up Club for his outstanding ACT score.
