Sharing Our Good News: SMILE U Announcement
Congratulations to the 10 Laurel Middle School students who have been accepted into the S.M.I.L.E. U School of Dentistry Cohort 2 with the University of Mississippi Medical Center! This exciting program was designed to engage students interested in dentistry, nurturing their aspirations to become dentists or dental hygienists.
The selected students will participate in a five-day program from June 3rd to 7th, 2024. During this time, they will be exposed to and educated about the fundamental tasks and functions of the dental field, aiming to ignite their passion for dentistry as a potential career path.
This program also aims to inspire students to engage in valuable STEM academic enrichment programs, equipping them with testing and study skills essential for successful progression towards undergraduate acceptance and admission into professional health programs. Additionally, students will build skills in professionalism, public speaking, and much more!
