Laurel basketball standout signs with Ragin' Cajuns

Laurel High School basketball standout Kayllis Walker signed a letter of intent with University of Louisiana Lafayette. She has earned numerous honors for her basketball achievements, including being named to the 2024–2025 Dandy Dozen, the first in school history, along with selection to the 2024–2025 Mississippi North/South All-Star Team, the Players to Watch List, 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 District MVP, and 2024 5A State Championship MVP. She was also recognized as the Lady Tornadoes MVP in both 2024 and 2025 and has received countless MaxPreps Player of the Game honors.

Walker is not only a standout on the court but in the classroom as well. She is a Principal’s List Scholar and dual-enrolled at Jones College. In addition, she participates in volleyball, tennis, Student Council, Key Club, and HOSA. She plans to major in nursing after graduation.
