Parents & Community Members Come Together to Support Social & Emotional Growth
This week, families across the Laurel School District gathered for an engaging and informative session focused on supporting the social and emotional development of students in grades K–12, including those in Exceptional Education.
During the event, our guest speaker, Dr. Pharen Nelson, chief executive officer and founder of Learning Zone Incorporated, shared practical strategies, real-life examples, and valuable resources to help parents better understand and nurture their child’s emotional well-being. Attendees left equipped with actionable tools to support their children at home and strengthen their overall development.
The session provided a meaningful opportunity for learning, connection, and collaboration, reinforcing the strong partnership between home and school that is vital to student success.
