With a proven record of developing programs, growing players, and delivering results, Broderick D. Hall has been named the next head coach of the Laurel High School Girls Basketball Team.
“We are excited to welcome Coach Hall to the team,” said Laurel School District Superintendent Dr. Michael Eubanks. “Coach Hall comes to us, not only highly recommended, but with stellar results from the high school and collegiate levels.”
Hall began his head coaching career in 2017 at Laurel Christian School followed by a stint at Southeastern Baptist College. In 2021 he was named the head girls basketball coach for Heidelberg High School where he has since served.
“I coached at Southeastern Baptist College, winning a national tournament championship, and also led both boys’ and girls’ programs at Laurel Christian School, where I turned a 7–15 team into a 17–5 team in just two seasons,” Hall said. “My experience spans high school and college, and I take pride in building disciplined, competitive cultures wherever I go.
Under Hall’s leadership, the Heidelberg High School Lady Oilers emerged from a rebuilding phase to become a consistent contender, capturing district championships and earning state tournament appearances.
“The accomplishment I’m most proud of is transforming programs into winners,” Hall said. “At Heidelberg, we built a program that went from rebuilding to consistently competing at a championship level, including a state runner-up finish and multiple Final Four and semifinal appearances. What makes that special is not just the wins, but the development of the players into disciplined, accountable young women who succeed on and off the court.”
With the Lady Tornadoes coming off of a championship season, Hall plans to build on Laurel’s foundation and expectation of excellence on the court, in the classroom, and in life. Through the program, he plans to focus on discipline, leadership and providing opportunities for students whether that be a future in college basketball or success in their careers, all in a place that he calls home.
“My primary goal is to develop complete student-athletes. That means holding students accountable academically, building character, and preparing them for life after basketball,” Hall said. “Laurel is home for me, and it’s a community I truly care about,” Hall said. “I want to develop a program that the school and community can be proud of, while also creating opportunities for young women in Laurel to succeed. Basketball is the platform, but developing young women is the mission.”
