We are proud to announce the Laurel School District Teacher of the Year is Kalea Thigpen. She has been a teacher in the Laurel School District for 17 years and currently teaches second grade English Language Arts at Laurel Magnet School of the Arts where she serves as Technology Department Chair, Assistant Testing Coordinator and Beta Club Sponsor. She has a passion for educating students and brings energy and enthusiasm to her classroom daily.
